Rivera should buy Coco, Tek, and Lugo dinner.

Sox: 1 Yanks: 2

Talk about the Yanks getting lucky. Mariano Rivera had hit two batters and loaded the bases with nobody out in the top of the 9th, but who comes up but the bottom of the Sox batting order, Coco, Tek, and Lugo. The Sox could have really capitalized on Mo's mistakes and come back to win this thing and break the Yanks closer's save streak, but 7, 8, and 9 just couldn't do that to him. Lowell was able to single Drew home to prevent the shutout, but no luck for the Red Sox after yet another squandered opportunity.

Masterson, Lopez and Timlin combined to hold the Yanks to just two runs. Masterson struggled with his command, hitting three batters, but limited the damage by pitching out of some tough jams. Lopez pitched a scoreless 7th and Timlin had a nice return from the DL with a 1-2-3 8th. It's too bad the Sox could only muster one little run. Coco seems to have cooled off at the plate; he was the one I had the most hope for in capitalizing on the bases loaded situation in the 9th, but he struck out.

Tomorrow on the mound is Wake (who has pitched better than his record, but suffers from lack of run support), versus Joba The Starter.

LET'S GO RED SOX!!!! SCORE SOME RUNS FOR WAKE, PLEEEEASE!
