Broom Time!

Sox: 18 Twins: 5

Runs, runs everywhere! The Sox bats go bananas in the 7th and 8th innings, scoring 11 runs and putting the Rays' 6-run attack on the Sox' own bullpen last week to shame. They combine for a total of 23 hits, a number not reached since 2005, and every hitter who came to bat, save for rookie Jeff Bailey, had at least one hit. Jake had his first four-hit game of his career, Manny, Youk, and Case had 3 apiece, and Pedey, Mikey, Tek, and Lugo had 2 apiece. The offense picked up Beckett, whose outing was more reminiscent of '06 Beckett than '07 Beckett, big time. Run support in droves! It was the kind of game where you wish you could bottle some of those runs and save them for a "rainy" day. A sweet sweep of a team that was on a tear.

The Yanks bested the Rays again today, putting the Sox a mere two games behind their latest division rival. Tomorrow's an off day for the Sox and Friday the O's come to town. Buch's back on the mound with what I hear is much improved fastball command and he's facing the team he famously no-hit last fall.

LET'S GO RED SOX!!!! WAY TO SCORE A TON OF RUNS!!!!!
